Celebrating The World Of Hillclimbing

The Sport That Drives Us.
Hillclimbing is one of the most thrilling and accessible forms of motorsport in the UK - raw, intense and beautifully simple: you, your car, and the hill. It originated in the late 19th century, with iconic events like Shelsley Walsh in the UK and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the USA. This site has now been created to promote and encourage hillclimbing at every level, from first-time competitors to championship contenders. It’s here to celebrate the drivers, the cars, the history and the future of this extraordinary sport.
But hillclimbing is powered by more than just engines. It depends on the dedication of incredible volunteers including marshals, course stewards, officials and countless helpers who give their time so that events can safely take place. No race could happen without them, and their commitment is the backbone of this sport. The hillclimbing community is welcoming, passionate and fiercely supportive. It’s one of the friendliest paddocks in motorsport and that spirit is part of what makes hillclimbing so very special.
It’s also vital to recognise the significance of the British Hillclimb Championship (BHC) which is the pinnacle of the sport in the UK. The Championship showcases the very best of British hillclimbing and continues to inspire competitors and fans year after year.
Our ambition is for hillclimbing.org to be more than simply a website. It is a platform dedicated to championing the sport, celebrating its people, and helping ensure that hillclimbing continues to grow and thrive for generations to come.

Driver Interview By Officially Gassed
We can't think of a better ambassador for the sport of hillclimbing than Damien Bradley of Team Legacy.
In this brilliant interview with Officially Gassed, Damien tells the real-life story of how a humble Subaru that cost £500 and once hauled groceries for a little old lady became one of the UK’s most famous hill climb race cars — eventually tackling the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2025 and rewriting the record books along the way.
Our own article about Legacy and Damien can be found here.

There's something truly electric about a hillclimb race - the roar of the engine, the speed of the cars, the adrenaline of the climb. And behind every iconic moment, there's a photographer. These talented artists freeze that raw emotion, the split-second triumphs and the sheer beauty of every curve and turn. Without them the spirit of hillclimbing would be lost.
We'd like to extend a special thank you to Stuart Wing from Capture Your Car Photography. His incredible talent and tireless support, has helped bring Hillclimbing.org's racing story to life. You can read more about Stuart and his work here.
Thanks for being part of this fast-paced adventure Stuart.
