Belgian Hillclimb Championship Visits St Mard

Hillclimbing.org was delighted to attend Round 6 of the Belgian Hillclimb Championship in the charming town of St Mard, near Virton in southern Belgium.
This fast and demanding 2.4km course climbs out of the village towards the French border, with two temporary chicanes carefully positioned to keep speeds under control on what is one of the quickest courses in the championship. The combination of high-speed straights and technical sections makes St Mard a real test of both driver skill and machine performance.
Nestled in the beautiful Gaume region, St Mard is a village full of character and history, perhaps best known for its striking neo-Romanesque church and its wonderfully welcoming community. What makes this event particularly special is the way the whole village embraces the hillclimb. Residents, volunteers and local businesses come together to support the organising team at Gaume Racing Club, creating a fantastic atmosphere for competitors and spectators alike.
It's a wonderful example of how motorsport and local communities can work hand in hand, with the hillclimb becoming a celebration of both competition and village life.
