Shelsley Walsh is the oldest motorsport venue in the world that still uses its original course. Speed hillclimbs have been staged here continuously, excluding during wartime, since it first opened in 1905. It has hosted rounds of the prestigious British Hillclimb Championship every year since the championship was introduced in 1947. The course is one of the fastest in the UK, with top speeds approaching 150 mph, but also includes the notorious corners of Bottom S and Top S.
